Druk path Trek

Druk Path Trek takes you into the pleasant exploration of Thimpu and Paro Valleys. It is one of the best short Bhutan Treks. Day01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to hotel
As you arrive at Kathmandu Airport, you will have to go through custom formalities and visa procedure. Our representative will greet you and transfer you to luxurious hotel. You will stay overnight at hotel.

Day02: Kathmandu sightseeing and Bhutan Tour Preparation
After breakfast, you will be taken for a guided Kathmandu sightseeing tour. Visit UNESCO Heritage sites of Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. You will get briefing about Druk Path Trek in the evening.   

Day03: Kathmandu to Paro
Take Kathmandu to Paro flight and sail through one of the best air routes over high mountains and valleys. Lower down at Paro Airport and go through the custom formalities. From the Paro Airport, we will drive to hotel and stay overnight in Paro.

Day04: Paro to Jilila / Jili Dzong
After a short drive, we will arrive at the starting point for Jili Dzong trek. About an hour of walk will take us to this incredible Dzong or Fort. We will take the uphill path and cross forest to arrive at the campsite. Continuing further, we will climb to the top of hill to reach 15th century built Jele Dzong. We can get beautiful view of Paro valley and surrounding mountains. Lhakhang is the highlight of Jili Dzong. Lhakhnag is the statute of Sakyamuni Buddha. 

Day05: Jilila to Jingchhu Lakha  
2 hours of trek will take us from Jilila to Jingchhu Lakha. We need to take the uphill climb before descending through rhododendron forests to Jangchulakha. Moving further through the crop field, we will reach the campsite at 3600m altitude. We can get incredible views of valley and mountains from the site. We can also see yak grazing in the area.

Day06: Jingchhu lakha to Jimilang Tsho
Follow the lowering trail for about 230m before taking the uphill climb to Jimilang Tsho. We need to cross few small passes on the journey. We will lower down from the pass and arrive at the stunning Jimilangtsho lakes which is lively with trout fishes.  We will prepare our camp by the side of lake. We can get unobstructed views of Jichu Drake Mountain (6,989m) and Gangkar Puensum Mountain (7,497m) from our campsite.

Day07: Jimilang Tsho to Simkotra Tasho
After breakfast, we will choose the uphill path from the edge of the lake. We will climb to the top of ridge and lower down to the rest place built for trekkers. Climb through the Janetsho Lake to the Simikotra Tasho and stay overnight in a camp.

Day08: Simkotra Tasho to Labana/Motithang/Thimphu
After taking light breakfast, we will begin our trekking. Our destination will be Thimpu. We need to climb the ridge. Enroute, we can get close-up view of Gangkar Puensum Mountain. We will proceed through juniper forest to Phajoding and continue our walk to Thimpu. We will pass through the scenic sites of Labana and Motithang. After arrival in Thimpu, we will stay overnight in a hotel.

Day09: Rest day in Thimpu
The new capital city of Bhutan is Thimpu. It lies in alluvial river valley. There are many cultural and historical sites in Thimpu. We will visit National Memorial Chorten, Zilukha Nunnery and Changangkha Temple on this day.

Day10: Thimphu Sightseeing
The second day of Thimpu sightseeing begins with visit to busy Thimpu Market. We will stop by the School for Arts and Crafts and visit The National Library. We will also stop over Folk Heritage Museum before making our journey towards the administrative body of Bhutan at Tashichhodzong. Tango and Cheri Monasteries are other sites worth visiting nearby Thimpu.

Day11: Thimphu to Paro
After breakfast, drive back to Paro from Thimpu via Phuntsholing by covering 51.1km in 1hr and 13min. Visit Drukgyel Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhnag. Stay overnight in a hotel.

Day12: Paro to Kathmandu flight
Drive from hotel to Paro Airport. Take flight from Druk Airlines and return to Kathmandu from Bhutan. Transfer to hotel in Kathmandu.

Day13: Free day in Kathmandu, Evening dinner program
This is a rest day. You can go for shopping in Thamel where you can buy gift items to take for your near and dear ones. Dinner will be served in the evening.

Day14: Departure from Kathmandu international Airport
This is the last day of the package. You will be assisted in your last minute preparation and then transferred back to Kathmandu Airport few hours before your flight schedule.
