Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to hotel
You will be welcomed by our representatives there at the Airport upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You will then be transferred to the Hotel where you will be briefed about the travel itinerary. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
On the second day of the itinerary package, you will be engaged in the sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley. After finishing breakfast at the Hotel in the
morning, you will begin the sightseeing tour visiting the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur and enjoying the ancient art and architecture of the monuments. Likewise, the tourists can also visit the Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple and also the Bouddhanath Stupa which are important destinations for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. You will return back to the Hotel in the
Day 3 –Drive to Sundarijal and trek to Chisapani
On the third day of the itinerary, you will take breakfast in the morning at the Hotel and
then drive for an hour from the Capital city to the neighboring town of Sundarijal. Sundarijal is located 15 km northeast of Kathmandu. The path then moves through the green forests of Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve to meet Tamang Village of Mulkharka. The trail ascends a little afterwards before lowering down through rhododendron forest to arrive at Chisapani (2140m). Chisapani is a beautiful village and you will stay overnight there at a guesthouse.
Day 4- Trek to Kutumsang
From Chisapani, you will climb further uphill on the fourth day after having breakfast at the guesthouse in the morning. The trekkers will continue to walk along the trail, crossing past several thick forests and also enjoying the distant views of the snow-clad mountains of the region. After walking for around four hours, you will finally reach the village of Kutumsang where you will be staying overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 5- Trek to Tharepati
On the fifth day, you will follow the trail ahead from Kutumsang (2450m), and proceed along the way, crossing pass fir and rhododendron forests along the way. You will also be blessed with the views of the mountains which will be there as your friend right throughout the journey. Crossing past the villages of Panghu, Magen Goth(3420m) will ultimately lead you to Tharepati (3640m) where you will be staying overnight in a guesthouse.
Day 6 – Trek to Melamchigaun
The destination for the sixth day will be the village of Melamchi. From Tharepati, the trail descends through mixed forests of spruce and rhododendron, as you will also hear the chirping of the birds during the walking. A while later, you will cross Chhyadi Khola over a suspension bridge to briefly ascend to the Sherpa Village of Melamchigaun (2530m). Melamchi is a beautiful Sherpa village and you will have some great memories of staying at a guesthouse in Melamchi.
Day 7 –Trek to Tarkeghyang
The next day, the trekkers will descend from Melamchi village and make their way towards Melamchi Khola or the River. The cold water in the natural river will leave the trekkers fresh. Continuing to walk from the river, the trekkers will then follow the trail before climbing up to reach Tarkeghyang meadow at 2490 meters of altitude. One hundred meters further up from the meadow lies the village of Tarkeghyang (2590m). An old Buddhist Gompa situated in Tarkeghyang is popular among the visiting tourists.
Day 8-Trek to Shermathang
From Tarkeghyang, the trekkers will continue their walk on the eighth day heading to Sermathang. The beautiful Sherpa village of Gangyul (2520m) comes on the way as you will proceed further through dense forests and ravines to arrive to Chumik. The Sherpa village of Sermathang is famous among tourists for the amazing views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Rolwaling, Gosainkunda and even the Mount Everest. Day 9- Trek to Melamchi Bazaar
The 9th day of the Helambu Trek lowers down through the settlement areas and small villages like of Nigale, Gyalsha and Raithani Gyang which further elongates by the way of pine forest. Crossing past the Dubha Chaur, you will eventually descend to Melamchi Bazaar, the destination for the day.
Day 10 –Drive back to Kathmandu
On this day, you will return back to Kathmandu from Melamchi Bazaar. Melamchi is situated 59 kms far from the Capital City of Kathmandu and it takes about 2 hour’s drive from Melamchi to rich Kathmandu. You will then be transferred to the hotel after reaching the Capital City. Dinner at the Hotel and
Day 11 – Free day in Kathmandu
On the second last day of the Helambu trekking itinerary, the visitors have the option of having complete rest at the Hotel or else stroll the streets of Thamel and Basantapur Durbar Square and buy souvenirs for your loved ones back home. Day 12 – Departure from Kathmandu
On the last day of the itinerary, you will be transferred to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from where you can return back to your home country or to your next destination.
