Helambu Trek

Helambu Trek is a short and a fascinating trek along the region of Helambu situated nearby from the capital city of Kathmandu in the Langtang region of Central Nepal. The short trekking with the Royal Heritage Trek lasts for 12 days as it promises to be, in every way, a great amalgamation of both cultural as well as adventure trek. Helambu trekking is an exhilarating journey into the amazing land of Helambu which is located to the North East from the Kathmandu Valley, about 75 kilometers far. The foreign trekkers and the adventure seekers during the Helambu trekking will get to see the lives and cultures of the local people living in the region as they pass through several villages mostly inhabited by people from Sherpa Community.
There are two possible routes for the Helambu Trek. The trekkers, however, prefer the one which starts from the town of Sundarijal (1350m) as it is a simple, comfortable and more accessible trekking route compared to the one starting from relatively tough Ganja-La Pass. The trekking starts with a short and pleasant drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal which happens to be the starting point of the trek. The trekkers will explore the wild forests, walk past them which serve as home to many diverse flora and fauna, cross many small rivers and rivulets while enjoying the adventures of trekking during Helambu trek. The opportunity to see 180-degree view of some of the snow-clad mountains including Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Chorkari Ri and many other such mountains, is another highlight of the trip. Coming across the local villages and towns like Chisapani, Sermanthang, Melamchi Bazaar, among others is another important aspect of Helambu Trek.
