Langtang Gosainkunda Trek

Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is an important pilgrimage destination in the Langtang region of Nepal situated in the north-central portion of the country. The pilgrimage trekking for the Hindu pilgrims takes the trekkers to the sacred and holy region of Gosainkunda Lake which is as much exquisite in its natural beauty as it is religiously. Langtang Gosainkunda Trek with the Royal Heritage Trek is a 17-day long itinerary and it is moderately strenuous trekking. The trekkers, visiting tourists and foreigners during the course of the trekking are allowed to explore the beautiful region of Langtang and also to the pilgrimage lake of Gosainkunda. As it is situated nearby from the Capital City of Kathmandu, the trekking is quite popular and convenient for the trekkers. The trail follows along the remote areas of the Langtang region before leading to the Holy lake of Gosainkunda which happens to be the center of attraction for many Hindu pilgrims.
Langtang Gosainkunda Treks begins with the scenic drive to the hill-town of Syabrubesi from the Capital City of Kathmandu, needing around six hours. The trail then moves along to Langtang Valley, crossing past several rhododendron and conifer forests along the way before reaching the Langtang National Park, a conserved area of Nepal government. The trail further extends along alpine pasture land, several high passes and glaciers before finally reaching the holy and sacred Lake of Gosainkunda. The holy lake of Gosainkunda is the major highlight of the trek as it remains very important for the Hindu pilgrims. Langtang region and the Lake is also equally popular amongst the foreign trekkers for its grand beauty. Crossing Lauribinayak-La Pass, a challenging Pass in Langtang, is another highlight of the Langtang Gosainkunda trek.
The pilgrimage trekking is mostly popular during the full moon of the Nepali month of Bhadra (English month of August) every year when thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit the Holy lake during the festival of Janai Purnima. The 360-degree views of the Mountains in the region, and the natural beauty of the region studded with mountains and lakes are the other fascinating aspects of the Langtang Gosainkunda Trek.
