Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to hotel
You will be welcomed by our representatives there at the Airport upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You will then be transferred to the Hotel where you will be briefed about the travel itinerary. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
On the second day of the itinerary package, you will be engaged in the sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley. After finishing breakfast at the Hotel in the
morning, you will begin the sightseeing tour visiting the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur and enjoying the ancient art and architecture of the monuments. Likewise, the tourists can also visit the Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple and also the Bouddhanath Stupa which are important destinations for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. You will return back to the Hotel in the
Day 3 – Drive to Syabrubesi
The next day, you will have breakfast in the morning at the hotel and
then head to a scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway to Syabrubesi, following the serpentine road along the Trishuli River. You will reach Syabru Besi, the starting point of the trek, after around 6 hours of drive watching scenic views along the way. Syabru Besi is full with hotels and
guesthouses and you will stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 4 – Trek to Lama Hotel
The next day the trekkers will descend further down the trail, crossing Ghopche Khola (a small river) and then a couple of Tamang villages before reaching Rimche village. Rimche is a wonderful village located at 2400 m altitude. Walking further down the trail and crossing more forests, we will ultimately reach Lama Hotel, our destination for the day. Lama Hotel is a popular place for stopping by amongst the tourists who come here in Lantang region for trekking. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 5 –Trek to Langtang Valley
Leaving behind Lama Hotel on the fifth day, the trekkers will then ascend along the uphill trail studded with maples, oak, Rhododendron and pine forests. Before reaching Langtang Valley, you will have chances to see local flora and fauna like white monkeys and other local birds. After a short while, you will reach Ghora Tabela (2970 m). Lowering further down to Thangshyap (3140 m), the trail ascends all the way to the Langtang Village which is the headquarters of the Langtang National Park. From the village, you can have 180-degree views of the mountains including Mount Lirung, Mount Langtang, among others.
Day 6 –Trek to Kyanjin Gompa
Chasing the inclined path uphill, the track advances forth small settlements of Sindum and Yamphu (3640 m) and crosses Laja Khola to arrive at a viewpoint with excellent views of Kyanjin Gompa and icefall from Lirung and Kinshung. Descending through the point will in the end bring us down to Kyanjin Gompa (3870 m). The old Buddhist monastery in Kyanjin Gompa is popular amongst the trekkers in the Langtang region.
Day 7 – A day of hiking and rest day in Kyanjin Gompa
The next day, you will be taking rest at Kyanjin Gompa for the purpose of acclimatization and also visit around the area. The Buddhist monastery in Kyanjin is very popular and will be one of the major attractions for the day. The trekkers can even plan for a short trek to the local cheese factory in the afternoon or climb Kyanjin Ri to enjoy the views of Langtang Ri, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung and other majestic mountains of the Langtang region.
Day 8 – Trek to Lama Hotel
Eighth day marks the beginning of the return trip as we will return following the same trekking trail back to Lama Hotel from Kyanjin Gompa. The trail follows downhill path from Kyanjin Gompa and after several hours of walking we finally arrive at the Lama Hotel where we had stayed earlier during the trip.
Day 9 – Trek to Thulo Syabru
The next day, the trail pursues the route down through Rimche and Bamboo Lodge and extends further through Paira Lodge. The trail afterwards heads up to the Langtang Khola or the River from where the suspension bridge needs to be crossed to visit Langtang village which further provides its way to Syabru Village(2260m). Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 10– Trek to Sing Gompa
The journey on the 9th day beings with early morning breakfast at the guesthouse before the trail makes its way uphill through schools and Gompas which takes the trekkers to Dursagang (2660m) and finally to the ridge at the top of Foprang Danda(3190m). The trail further winds up through the Agriculture Office to Sing Gompa- which is a Buddhist monastery located at 3330 meters. If time permits, the trekkers can walk around Gompa to visit Yak cheese Factory where local cheeses is manufactured.
Day 11 –Trek to Gosainkunda Lake
The trek for 11th day commences by chasing the way proceeding through the stupa of Sakyamuni which stretches further through the path with a spectacular view of the sparkling water of Saraswati Kunda all the way through Bhairab Kunda at which point the path ascends uphill to Gosainkunda(4460m). The holy lake of Gosainkunda is an important pilgrimage destination for the followers of Hindu religion. Large number of Hindu pilgrims gather at the Lake on the occasion of Janai Poornima which falls on the Nepali month of Bhadra every year. The great natural beauty of Gosainkunda lake also attracts equally large number of foreign tourists.
Day 12– Trek to Tharepati
After spending a day at the holy lake of Gosainkunda, the trekkers will trek across the pine and juniper forests and then ascend the steep slope pursuing the rocky terrain for about 2 hours to finally arrive at Tharepati that rewards the trekkers with the natural marvels. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 13 – Trek to Kutumsang
The next day, the trekkers will move from Tharepati and head towards the village of Kutumsang. After walking for around four hours, you will finally arrive at the beautiful village of Kutumsang and rest there for the rest of the day at a guesthouse.
Day 14 – Trek to Chisapani
The path for the 15th day moves along the forested ridge and escalates through Thodang Betini (2260m) and Chipling (2170m) before making a sharp downfall to reach Pati Bhanjyang (1860m). Pati Bhanjyang is a multi- ethnic village with Brahmin and Chhetri people being the most populated people in the village. The trail declines further to Chisapani which is located at 2134 meters of altitude which allows panoramic view of sun set over the snow-clad mountains.
Day 15 – Trek to Sundarijal and drive back to Kathmandu
On this day, the trekkers will walk for around three hours and head from Chisapani to the village town of Sundarijal. On the way, the trekkers can enjoy the natural beauty of the region and also the conserved area of Shivapuri National Park. After reaching Sundarijal, you will drive to Kathmandu. It will take around an hour for you to reach the Capital City from Sundarijal. You will then be transferred to the Hotel in
Day 16 - Free day in Kathmandu
On the second last day of the Langtang Gosainkunda trekking itinerary, the visitors have the option of having complete rest at the Hotel or else stroll the streets of Thamel and Basantapur Durbar Square and buy souvenirs for your loved ones back home. You can even enjoy rickshaw ride in the streets of Basantapur. You will return back to Hotel in the
Day 17 –Departure from Kathmandu
On the last day of the itinerary, you will be transferred to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from where you can return back to your home country or to your next destination.
